Event Description
Social Practice Art is a dynamic and evolving field that transcends traditional art boundaries to engage directly with social issues. By prioritizing human interaction, community involvement, and social impact, it offers a powerful medium for addressing contemporary challenges and fostering social change.
This project will engage students and community members in a series of social practice art activities, reflection exercises, and a culminating presentation event aimed at creating critical dialogue around issues of racial, economic, and environmental justice, and Indigenous rights. This includes stations consisting of a community mural painting, privilege bead bracelet making, environmental flowing potting, button making, and tote bags.
