Event Description
Learn how to create an Amish prenatal program in your healthcare system. Set up in-home prenatal visits, train Amish midwives to lessen the risk of obstetrical emergencies, and understand Amish cultural beliefs about prenatal care.
Dawn Dahlgren-Roemmich, CNM, DNP, became a CNM in 2003, worked in a suburban midwifery practice for 15 years, then moved to a rural location in central Minnesota. She had requests to work with local Amish clients. She saw the need for more than just in-home prenatal visits. They needed education about prenatal and intrapartum care. Her DNP project set up a prenatal care program working with the local Amish client population.
Attendees are eligible for 1 hour of CEU credit.
