Event Description
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s internationally popular operatic comedy will be performed in Benson Great Hall with an entirely student cast. Figaro is engaged to Susanna, but the Count has decided to pursue her. This is not the only twisted love triangle that needs to be worked out in this story of love, trickery, and tomfoolery! You won't want to miss this hilarious production performed here with a double cast and sung in English with projected supertitles.
Pre-Show Talk at 6:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday/1:30 p.m. Sunday
We invite you to join Artistic Director Merrin Guice Gill for a pre-performance talk about Bethel Opera’s production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. Dr. Guice Gill will discuss the background of the opera’s composition and Mozart’s collaboration with librettist, Lorenzo Da Ponte, as well as our decision to set the work in 1930s London. Come a little early to discover fascinating facts about this beloved and internationally popular comedic masterpiece by Mozart.
