Faculty recital
Our distinguished faculty members will present a varied program of solo and ensemble repertoire on the opening day, showcasing the artistry and collaboration that inspire our students. This special concert offers a unique chance for students to be inspired by live performances from their mentors.

Interlude Recital
Held midway through the academy, the Interlude Recital features students selected through our on-site audition. Students chosen to perform in a master class or the Concerto Spotlight Concert are not eligible for this recital, allowing more students the opportunity to take the stage.
This special midweek concert celebrates the artistry of our students, highlighting both technical achievement and expressive musicianship as they share their work with the Academy community.
Concerto Spotlight Concert
Experience the thrill of performing a concerto movement alongside a professional string ensemble! Advanced students interested in this special opportunity may submit an audition video by April 15, with selected performers notified within two weeks.
Video submission requirements
- Perform one or two complete movements not exceeding 15 minutes from the 2027 concerto repertoire list (pdf). Please consult with your regular piano teacher when selecting and preparing your concerto movement.
- The performance must be fully memorized.
- Second-piano accompaniment is optional.
- The student’s hands and face should be clearly visible throughout the video.
- Use good lighting and position the recording device where the piano can be heard clearly.
- Upload the video to YouTube as an unlisted video and submit the link to the director, l-juan@bethel.edu by April 15.
The additional $500 program fee includes:
- One-hour piano lesson on the concerto
- One full rehearsal with the professional string ensemble
- One dress rehearsal
- Concerto Spotlight Concert performance
- Professional photographs and video recording

Ensemble showcase concert
Designed to provide students with even more opportunities for musical collaboration and shared performance. Students may perform piano 4-hands, 6-hands, or 8-hands works, chamber music, or one movement of a junior concerto lasting five minutes or less.
All members of an ensemble must be registered Academy participants, and students should prepare and rehearse their ensemble repertoire together before arriving at camp. One coaching session will be offered during the Academy to help each group refine their ensemble performance. Repertoire must be submitted for approval to perform in this concert through the Repertoire Form, which will be sent in late May.
This concert is a wonderful opportunity to experience the joy of making music with friends, develop ensemble skills, and create memorable performances together!
Finale recitals
The Academy concludes with three Final-Day Recital sessions, celebrating the musical growth and accomplishments of every participant. After eight inspiring days of lessons, practice, classes, collaboration, and performance, each student will have the opportunity to take the stage and share their progress with family, friends, faculty, and fellow students. These recitals provide a joyful culmination of the Academy and a meaningful way to celebrate each student’s hard work, growth, and musical journey.
Auditions
Students interested in participating in the Masterclasses or Interlude Recital will first be evaluated by their camp instructor. Following the initial private lesson, instructors will recommend eligible students to participate in the on-site live audition.
Approximately 12–13 students will be selected across three Masterclass levels, while 15–25 students may be selected for the Interlude Recital, depending on available performance time.
The live audition will take place before the full faculty panel. Each faculty member will independently score the performances, and the combined results will be used to ensure a fair and thorough selection process.
